Day 1 of Giving Back: December 1, 2020
“She is 13 years old, and she’s washing the family’s laundry in the bathtub because they don’t have a washer and dryer. Dad is doing the best he can to manage her and her younger brother but this family is living in a crisis. Is there anything you can do for them?”
This anonymous message came to us from a teacher during our 12 Days of Christmas Giving last year.
Emergency Medical Services
Day 2 of Giving Back: December 2, 2020
Do you send up a little prayer every time they drive by you with flashing lights and screaming sirens? Hoping it’s no one that you know.
Lives saved. Lives gone.
Lives changed forever in the wake of that ambulance. I always think that. Those people had no idea this was going to happen to them today.
Employee of the Century
Day 3 of Giving Back: December 3, 2020
Almost five years ago, she was the first friend that I made the announcement to: We are going to open up a store in Spruce Grove that will sell beef jerky.
She thought we were absolutely crazy, and she said so.
What can I say, she says what she thinks lol!
Supporting Local Businesses
Day 4 of Giving Back: December 4, 2020
We already know that you guys are so amazing at supporting local businesses!!
We have watched the massive online support for small businesses over the last eight months and it has been completely heart warming.
And business saving.
Our family thanks you!
Right beside you, always.
Day 5 of Giving Back: December 5, 2020
Her eyes are anxiously searching for familiarity. She is feeling insecure in her surroundings. She can’t remember all of her words. She can’t remember all of her people.
Until she sees him.
I have seen this man grab her hand. Tucks her arm right into his side with a reassuring squeeze. She relaxes. She can trust this. She smiles. She will even start to giggle.
We love your Christmas spirit
Day 6 of Giving Back: December 6, 2020
One of the children in this photograph experienced a significant loss this week.
Absolutely, heartbreaking and life changing.
And you know what?
She still wanted to get out with our children this evening to see all the Christmas lights in our communities!
Nancy
Day 7 of Giving Back: December 7, 2020
She has never once had family visit her since she moved into Copper Sky Lodge here in Spruce Grove.
Covid is affecting everyone in different ways, and this is one of them. Can you actually imagine this? But this situation is more than just that.
Did you know that some of our seniors here in our city are living on only $40 per month budget?
She is one of them.
Teachers

Day 9 of Giving Back: December 9, 2020
The last time he saw his daughter was seven years ago.
She is 11 years old and lives in Eritrea (formerly known as Ethiopia). Her name is Samira.
Her Dad has been living and working here in Canada… just so that he can send money home to her.
Cheeto
Day 10 Giving Back: December 10, 2020
Puppies and kitties...there is nothing truer in this world then the love of a pet.
On Father’s Day of this year we added two baby white Labradors to our household... and ohmyeverlovinggoodness have they ever added another whole new dimension of love into our life!!!
They are so amazing and we couldn’t imagine life without them.
Gnomes
Day 11 of Giving Back: December 11, 2020
According to Scandinavian folklore, gnomes are known to protect the family and children from evil and misfortune.
They are also known for bringing luck to your family!
We have no idea who you are, your house was chosen at random this evening by Santa (and a few Elves) and we would like to gift to you one of our Wilhauk Beef Jerky Ltd. Christmas Gift Boxes!!
This Family
Day 12 of Giving Back: December 12, 2020
Five-year-old Mowgli loves dinosaurs. His three-year-old brother, Milan, absolutely adores farm animals. They are both autistic.
Actually, while we were searching for them, little Milan was at the Glenrose Hospital in Edmonton with his Momma and was officially diagnosed with Severe Autism on Wednesday.
This was a very difficult day for Mom.
